Ford F-150 Towing Capacity

Towing capacity is something that stands out with the 2021 Ford F-150. When properly equipped, this pickup can tow up to 14,000 pounds. Not only that, but it also has a maximum payload capacity of 3,325 pounds when properly equipped.

To reach that maximum towing capability, you’ll want to equip your truck with the available Max. Trailer Tow Package, which includes:

• Pro Trailer Backup Assist™
• Electronic-locking rear axle
• Trailer brake controller
• Class IV trailer hitch receiver
• 36-gallon fuel tank

As you cruise down the highway, available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Trailer Coverage can alert you to vehicles in your side blind spots. This coverage is extended along the length of your trailer.

Then, when you get to where you’re going, available Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ allows you to control your trailer’s direction when in reverse via a knob on your driver dashboard.

Ford F-150 MPG

If you want to go the distance with less frequent stops to fill up, then you’ll probably love the available 3.5L PowerBoost™ Full Hybrid V6 powertrain. This hybrid powertrain gets the following EPA-estimated fuel economy numbers with 2-wheel drive (4x2):

With 4-wheel drive (4x4) this powertrain gets an EPA-estimated 24 combined MPG fuel economy. This hybrid powertrain features a 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine that pairs with an integrated electric motor to deliver a net system 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque.

Not only is it efficient—it’s also powerful. This powertrain can tow up to 12,700 pounds when properly equipped.

Fully gas-powered engines can achieve an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency of 20 city/26 highway MPG with the available 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 engine. That’s 22 combined MPG, according to EPA estimates.

With versatility and customizability at the forefront, the 2021 Ford F-150 trim levels give you up to six different ways to build the perfect truck for you. Each trim delivers a slightly different version of that powerful Ford pickup you love.

XL Trim Level

First, we have the XL trim. This is the base-level trim that comes with standard features like a 3.3L V6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower. It also comes with the SYNC® 4 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration.

XLT Trim of the Ford F-150

The XLT trim comes with everything on the XL trim, plus a few upgrades. For example, it comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360™ 2.0 technology like Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and BLIS®.

Ford F-150 LARIAT

With the LARIAT trim, you see new features like a Remote Start System. It’s also the first to come standard with the 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 engine that generates 325 horsepower. It comes standard with the Class IV trailer hitch receiver too.

King Ranch Trim

The King Ranch trim is always ready for an adventure. It comes standard with a 5.0L V8 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. It also makes the Ford Co-Pilot360™ Assist 2.0 system standard. This adds in driver-assistive systems like Evasive Steering Assist and Intersection Assist.

F-150 Platinum Trim Level

When you upgrade to the Platinum trim, you get high-class features like heated and ventilated multicontour bucket seats with Active Motion® massage. As you drive, listen to your favorite tunes through the available B&O Unleashed Sound System with 18 speakers, including subwoofer.

Limited Trim

Finally, we have the Limited trim level. This trim comes standard with the 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine, which generates 400 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque.  Other features make their first appearance with this trim, too, like the 360-Degree Camera with Trailer Reverse Guidance.
